My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxy is an exceptionally sweet and lovely dog. She's very affectionate and attentive and everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She's got loads of energy and is extremely friendly with everyone she meets. She's also very intelligent and picks up training rules very quickly. She is a young girl just under a year old and weighs just under 30 lbs.

Here is what else her foster family had to say:

Roxy is very will socialized. She's very friendly with children, and is actually quite calm around them. She always wants to play with other dogs and therefore becomes very excited when she notices others around, but quickly settles down with some direct commands. She is very friendly with everyone and has never shown any signs of aggression. She is not shy around people or other pets and would really like to give those squirrels a run for their money.

I have no other pets in the home but she is extremely playful with other dogs at the off-leash park. She engages them well and is learning the boundaries of play, but there have been no episodes of aggression or fighting. Roxy does best when in a crate when I am away from home other wise she may have an accident. I take her for a brief walk right after I return she is fine. When I leave she does bark/whine for a minute and then settles down. She has no fears whatsoever, and she currently lives in Downtown Toronto so she is very used to loud noises/distractions.

She LOVES going to off-leash parks and playing with other dogs. Her favourite toy is her rope, and she also loves to play with it in the apartment. She is VERY quiet in the home, and usually very calm. She's actually quite good in the home. She doesn't beg or counter surf and she only chews her toys. She doesn't steal food. Since then I've been crate training her and she is doing very well when left at home on her own. The only real problem right now is that she loves to sleep on the couch so I'm trying to break the habit. She knows her basic commands such as sit, stay, come. She is now fully house trained with the use of a crate. She is crate trained, I leave her in her crate for a maximum of 4 hours/day as well as overnight in my bedroom. She doesn't like the crate but tolerates it quietly. She only barks or cries if she thinks you have left the apartment, so if it is in a high-traffic area there are no problems. With the use of a halty/leader she is a very good walker and very calm. She does react when other dogs are around with some barking and whining because she wants to play. Without the halty/leader she tends to pull during the initial part of the walk, then settles down. She loves the car, and often wants to put her head out the window.

I think the ideal situation for Roxy would be someone who has a yard and is able to get her outside to play/run on a consistent basis. She's an intelligent but high energy dog and therefore needs both mental and physical stimulation. She's great with, and loves kids, and therefore would also be suitable for a family with children. She's really a lovely and sweet dog and would make anyone very happy.
