Riley's Story...
Handsome Riley was pulled from the high kill shelter after he was abandoned by his owner.. He was placed in a loving foster home but then, to our dismay, he was struck with parvo. Thanks to his foster who did not hesitate to contact us at the first sign of illness, we were able to get him hospitalized before the virus took its toll on him. He recovered very well and now he is just the picture of good health!

Riley weighs close to 30 pounds and is probably about 9 months old. He is a slender, long bodied dog. He is athletic and intelligent. He is friendly with everyone he meets and will make a fantastic walking/running buddy as well as a great family member. He lives in a foster home with dogs ranging from an almost 200 hundred pound bulldog all the way down to a 15 pound minpin mix. He counts all the dogs in the household as good friends. He also lives with a couple of cats and gets along fine with them. Riley is housetrained, crate trained, leash trained and is beginning to learn his basic commands.

If you are looking for a friendly, playful, well mannered, highly trainable companion animal, you need to take a close look at Riley!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Jackson Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
