Romeo's Story...
Romeo is a 2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier. He was rescued from dog fighting a couple months back. You can see his full story under the album titled "Romeo - Sad Story with a Happy Ending" on our Facebook Page "Humane Society of Northwest Indiana" He recently is ready for adoption and fully recovered. Even though he has had a rough life and scars all over his face and body he is one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet. As of now he will have to be an only dog... after all that Romeo has been through he is not very fond of other dogs. His future forever home will have to have knowledge of Pit Bulls if not larger dogs. They will also have to take him to obedience classes. He is not yet crate trained and has a bit of separation anxiety. He is very food driven and will practically do a back flip for a treat. He is very bright and already knows several commands. He is such a sweet boy and has been through so much, we want him to find a "forever home". Come in and see him at the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romeo, a Gary Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Gary, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Gary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gary paves the way for another one to be saved.
