Margaret's Info...

Margaret's Story...
Margaret is a female retriever mix puppy. Meet Miss Margaret or little miss Maggie as her foster home calls her. She is a sweet mellow girl that can wag her tail so hard that her whole butt wiggles. She is working on learning to play and be comfortable in a home. She is getting lots of socialization in her foster home since she goes to work with her foster mom.

Margaret plays well with the other 2 dogs in the foster home and is really taken with the male dog in the home. She bats her eyes, licks him and follows him around the yard!!

Margaret is currently being treat for demodectic mange, which is not contagious and easily treated. She will need follow up visits until a clean skin scrape.

Miss Margaret loves to have her belly rubbed and will fall asleep in your lap. She is learning her manners during meal times and treat times very well and has potty times outside almost down.

Margaret will need another confident dog to help her come out of her shell and know that life in the fast lane is a good thing. She is looking for a family that is willing to teach her and be patient with her while she learns all the things you are willing to teach her.

Please remember that GRFR adopts puppies to forever families who have sufficient time at home to socialize, house train and nurture their new puppy. Also note: puppies should not leave your yard or be exposed to any other dogs unless you are certain that such other dogs have been fully vaccinated and are older than six months. They should not go to parks or Petsmart or anywhere else until they have their last booster shot, as they could contract a potentially lethal virus. Before taking your puppy to puppy class please discuss vaccination requirements for various classes with your trainer or vet. Puppies often need a few dewormers and we encourage you to discuss this with your vet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Margaret, a Denver Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
