Baby Jane's Story...
Sweet Baby Jane is a small chocolate labby mix girl. She is a young girl about 1 year old and weighs 50 lbs. She came from a very high kill shelter and was so emaciated. Jane had 9 beautiful puppies shortly after we got her and she was such a good momma. Her pups all found wonderful homes and now it is time for Baby Jane to take care of herself. She has gained quite a bit of weight and her coat is a shiny chocolate color. Baby Jane is looking good. She would be considered a medium energy girl. She is a very smart girl and would do wonderfully in obedience classes. She takes treats very nicely and loves it when she is told that she is a good girl and gets hugs. Jane gets along well with other dogs and likes running and playing in the yard. All she needs now is a home to call her own and to be loved. She has a lot of love to give back. Baby Jane would do great in any family situation as she is a sweet mild mannered girl. She would love to go for long walks, running on the beach, helping with yard work or just hanging out with her family. Baby Jane is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. She is on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative. Jane is also crate trained. If you would be interested in hearing more about this sweet girl, please indicate her in the notes section of the online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baby Jane, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
