OAKLEY's Story...
Oakley is a wonderful Border Collie mix puppy just about to turn 6 months old. This poor boy has had a sad life and we want him to have a loving home. He and his five siblings and their mother were stuffed into a medium size crate and dropped at our shelter. If we hadn't found them soon after they were left they would have suffocated. They were all starving and covered with fleas. That was six weeks ago and he is now a healthy and happy puppy. He currently weighs about 35 pounds. Oakley is quite playful and loves other dogs. He is up to date on vaccinations, wormed, neutered and heartworm tested.

Oakley is currently fostered in Leesburg, VA where he is part of a children's camp. It is there he gets lots of stimulation, exercise, and healthy food. Oakley is very smart and eager to please. He would be an excellent choice for a family with or without children. Medium • Young • Male

Why Adoption is a Great Option

OAKLEY, a Bartonsville Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Bartonsville, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Bartonsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bartonsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bartonsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bartonsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
