My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Sadie. My foster mom endearingly calls me "Sadie Ma Lady!" and I am an adorable, spunky 10 year old black with white accents Chihuahua mix. I weigh about 10 lbs. I am spayed and current on my vaccinations. House trained and kennel trained. Who could ask for anything more? I do confess that I am a little bit shy and nervous when I enter new surroundings, but foster mom, Laura, can confirm that if you give me some love and attention for a couple of weeks that I will be eating out of your hand and snuggling next to you as you watch TV. I came into the shelter with a 10 year old Yellow Lab by the name of Sophie. They were trying to adopt us together, but everyone that seemed interested wasn't interested in adopting both of us. That's when foster moms, Laura and Jacque, thought they would try splitting us up. I wasn't so sure that was a good idea at first, but I have become quite the social butterfly since leaving Sophie's side. My foster mom, Laura, says that I am becoming a better dog because I don't have to have Sophie to protect me. My foster mom laughs as I run across the yard because she says that I kinda hop like a bunny. I do think it is my job to bark and let you know when the neighbor dogs are outside. I get along fine with the other dogs at my foster mom's house except for Karma. She is a 40 lb young whippersnapper and she teases me so I bark and snarl at her to tell her to leave me alone. When my foster mom scolds us, we both stop and start behaving ourselves. My favorite canine friend at my foster mom's house is Clint. He is about my size and he is blind. It took me a few days to figure out how to communicate and play with him, but I am one smart cookie. I figured it out and my foster mom loves to watch the two of us play together. All in all, I am becoming a quite well adjusted little Chihuahua mix that just needs a patient new human that will give me a couple of weeks to settle in and I will gladly call you my BFF!

Interested in meeting me? My foster mom and I will be at PetSmart at 115th & Metcalf in Overland Park KS from Noon to 3PM on Saturdays. Please contact my foster mom, Laura, directly if you would like more information about me at laura.k9s4me@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting a homeless animal!
