Pumpkin's Story...
This beautiful little lady is Pumpkin, a 2 1/2 year old wheaten terrier that is looking for a fresh start in life. It seems that young Pumpkin was used for breeding and was put up on Craigslist when the breeder was done with her. Some people got her from there and had her for two weeks, but brought her in because they said that she wasn't used to being in a home, and didn't know much about anything. Pumpkin was quite shy when she came in but after realizing that she is in good hands, she completely came out of her shell. She absolutely adores everyone and certainly knows how to be affectionate! She is also so well-behaved too and is so easy-going. Pumpkin is very content to curl up on a blanket and nap by your side, and she is thrilled when she is given attention and her little stubby tail wiggles wildly when you talk to her. Pumpkin walks very well on a leash and when she's in our exercise yard, she prefers to roam around and check things out as opposed to running and playing. Pumpkin is interested in toys, but it seems no one has every played with her much. She is also interested in other dogs and would do well with a well-behaved, easy going dog or cat. Pumpkin is looking for a quiet home without a lot of commotion, where she will get all of the love and attention that she deserves. 8/7/13 File#22721

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pumpkin, a Forked River Wheaten Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
