Henry and Charlie's Story...
This is Henry and his best friend Charlie. Henry is a grey tabby, approximately two years in age, he's incredibly friendly and gets along well with all animals and humans. Charlie belonged to the family who first fostered Henry for us. It was evident fairly early on that Charlie and Henry had a very strong bond, bathing each other, spending their time watching birds together and even sleeping together. The two had grown so close it was decided that they should go to their new home together, as a bonded pair. A few weeks ago they did find a home we thought would be perfect for the two of them, but unfortunately it didn't work out for Henry and Charlie in their new home, and now they're once again looking for their forever family. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henry and Charlie, a Douglas American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Douglas, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Douglas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Douglas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Douglas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Douglas paves the way for another one to be saved.
