Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sabrina is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Sabrina is not affiliated with Take Me Home. She is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. For more information or to meet Sabrina please contact Heather at 949-278-5817 or email heather.jones@maxava.com .
Sabrina is a 3-4 year old spayed female boxer that was rescued from the high kill Downey shelter. Her owners dumped her telling the shelter that she was 16 years old and too old for them. We won't go into how people like this can live with themselves because at the end of the day Sabrina is a gem that will bring much love and joy to the family that adopts her.
My vet examined her and several of the other vets at the clinic assessed her age as well and concluded that she was probably 3 years old, perhaps 4 at the most. Frankly, I'm surprised that anyone would give her up because she is such a good girl. Initially she was quite scared, which you would never know today. She's such an easy going girl. She loves to play with my 18 month old boxer, but also is content to just lay near your feet. I can't find a single bad habit with her! She is so gentle and quite smart. She didn't know any commands, but learned sit and wait and lay down so easily. Now she doesn't even need an enticement to follow a command and when it's cookie time she just automatically sits and takes her treat so gently.
We haven't been around cats yet, but she's integrated so well with my two boxers and considering that all three are females, she is great with other dogs. I walk her on a harness and she is just perfect. She has this most adorable move where she gives you her paw. It makes your heart melt. We don't have children, but she seems to really like the neighbor kids and what's awesome about her is that she doesn't jump on people. She just greets you with a big smile and wags of her beautiful natural tail. Speaking of beautiful, her coat is amazingly gorgeous and she has a picture perfect figure. Sabrina also has these gorgeous big brown eyes that look up at you with so much love and appreciation. All she needed was to know that she mattered. she expresses her gratitude every chance she gets.
Sabrina is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and had a full veterinary work up. All she needs now is someone who can appreciate a great dog. Will you be the lucky one? In addition to the photos here, you can see more on her FB page https://www.facebook.com/sabrinatheboxergirl
