Dakota's Story...
Dakota is an Australian Cattle Dog mix who was discovered as a stray in a high kill facility. She was rescued from the facility almost nine months ago and has been in a loving foster home while undergoing heartworm treatment.

Now Dakota has a clean bill of health and is ready to join your family! She is a wonderful outdoorsy girl who likes wide open spaces. When she is in the house she exhibits excellent house manners. She does not jump on people, she is not hyper. She does not bark very often. She is obedient and good on the leash. She lives on a small farm with horses and other dogs. She also has young children to play with! She does great with the horses, gets along with other dogs and loves her children!!

Dakota is about four years old and weighs about 45 pounds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Jackson Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
