My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stanley is searching for home…

My name is Stanley and I’m a 6 year old male Merle Great Dane. I was relinquished to the Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue by my owner. Before I was in my foster home, I led a pretty sedentary life and it shows on my waistline…or lack thereof! My foster home is working on my weight by taking me on walks, exercising me, and not allowing me to free feed! I’m quite happy about it because the extra weight was hurting my joints!

I’m a BIG people-person…I mean “people dog!” I absolutely love to be around people and will do almost anything for a good petting! If you want a watchdog, I’m not for you because I would let anyone in the house and love on them!

I really like my chew bones! My foster mom calls me her goofy Clydesdale because I will come in for a chew bone and prance around with it shaking my head all around! What can I say, I love my bones! I’m also quite content to lay on the floor with my humans and take a nap! I don’t like to be in an area separated from people. I bark to make sure they know I’m still there but I settle down after a bit. My foster mom is working on my barking and I’m trying to learn that it is ok to not ALWAYS be around someone!

I know how to sit and I work great on a leash! I love my walks and I promise not to pull you around! I have met quite a few other dogs, big and small. I like the less dominant dogs the best! I’ve met some kids and they don’t bother me at all. I’m a laidback guy and my foster mom says I’m a joy to have around!

I’m a big sweetheart who deserves a loving home for the rest of my years. If you can take me on walks and give me the security of a family, fill out an application for me today at www.foreverfriendsgdri.com

Lots of love,
Stanley
