Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elder is a handsome, quiet, mellow and calm, seven-year-old, 70-pound, male, black and tan Hound-mix looking for a loving guardian. Rescued in West Virginia, Elder made his way to Chicago where he’s living in a fabulous foster home. He has proven to be housebroken and loves to go on walks. He’s great on leash. He’s wonderful with children and regularly spends time with an 8 and 11-year-old, who adore him. Elder doesn’t play ball … and he certainly has no hunting instinct. He can be a foot away from a rabbit and not even notice. He likes to hang out, chew his bones and snuggle with his people. Elder gets along well with other dogs but has no use for tiny little dogs that annoy him. Elder bonds quickly and closely with people. He looks right into your eyes with his warm brown eyes and talks to you in his silent loving manner. His tail is always happily wagging, and he adores being brushed. After spending a lot of time outdoors in West Virginia, he only likes to be outside now if his humans are out there with him. He’s not a high-energy guy who needs a yard … he’d be perfectly happy in an apartment as long as he was there with a human who loves him. Elder is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Elder, please fill in the on-line adoption application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido’s. Elder is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
