Kimba's Story...
Hi everyone! My name is Kimba and I am an intelligent, active and friendly 8 year old lab looking for permanent digs. I would be a great companion for someone who loves the great outdoors! Running, fishing, hiking, I love to do it all. I love to be with my people, but I'm the perfect kind of guy who likes to be near you and get pet, but not needy or in your face. I do well in my crate and make friends with other dogs. I have been known to ignore cats, but I have never lived with one, so a cat who is dog-savvy would be best! Does my fun-loving personality sound like what you have been looking for? Fill out an application at so we can schedule a meet and greet! I am fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kimba, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
