Susie's Story...
We received word of Susie by email, a concerned animal lover and her husband had spotted the bun in their backyard. They had tried numerous times to catch the bunny but Susie was too fearful to allow anyone to get too close. It took a couple of weeks and in the end, the efforts of more than a dozen people, most of whom were compassionate neighbors, to catch Susie and get her the medical care she needed. You can read more about the adventure and see photos of the rescue in action here, It Takes a Village To Rescue a Bun.

Susie turned out to be a gorgeous bunny, with one of the most beautiful coats of fur ever. It gives her the appearance of looking slightly plump, mature and somewhat regal if we dare to say. She is a silly girl who has been known to grunt and cluck in order to express herself. She has overcome the skittishness she had when first rescued and is ready to be spoiled by indoor living, treats, toys and head rubbies!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Susie, a Marietta New Zealand was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a New Zealand for sale in Marietta, or seeking a New Zealand from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even New Zealand breeders who help with New Zealand rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
