Luna's Story...
Luna is new with us at BEAR, she was saved from the Brooklyn, New York shelter after her owner left her there stating they had too many pets. Poor Luna was taken to the shelter without so much as a care. Luna is guessed to be only a year old and already has experienced being betrayed by an uncaring owner. Luna is a submissive female who will need a gentle loving owner that can give her the time she needs to feel secure again. We do have history also that Luna has lived in a home with other dogs, so there is a chance she can live with a nice confident male dog. We will be getting some new pictures up of our gal Luna after her spa day. Check back soon!!
If you're interested in this loving and gentle Akita, please go to our website at: and fill out an online application for our Luna.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luna, a Toms River Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Toms River, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Toms River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toms River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toms River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toms River paves the way for another one to be saved.
