Garth's Story...
Garth has Great Credentials!

Garth is good with kids and cats, housetrained, walks well on a leash and doesn’t bark! Garth was found near a highway outside of Waverly by a kind woman who took him home. She tried for two weeks to find Garth’s owner with no luck. Around that time her landlord stopped by and told her to move Garth immediately—dogs are not allowed. She contacted us and we were happy to help. Garth was good with her 5-year-old son and her cats. Doesn’t bark and is housetrained.

Our adoption fees are on a sliding scale; choose the amount that's right for you. Fees for senior dogs (7 years and older) are $90 to $125; fees for dogs 1-6 years are $125-$175; fees for dogs under 1 year of age are $150-$200.
If you are 65 years or older, the adoption fee is waived when you adopt a senior dog. All Dogs Forever dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper/parvo, tested for heartworm and Lyme disease, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Garth, a Cedar Rapids Rhodesian Ridgeback dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
