Shrek's Story...
This is Skrek!! He is a 5 month old kitten that came into a high kill shelter with his 2 brothers. He and his siblings were too scared so they were deemed unadoptable. He and his brothers have been socialized and are starting to become friendly little kittens at their foster home. RRCR does not usually take in cats, but these three boys were special and there are far too many kittens/cats in shelters. His adoption fee is $50. Please email RRCR if you would like to meet Shrek at recycled.ruffs.rescue@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shrek, a Fort Collins American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Fort Collins, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Fort Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
