Skipper's Story...
This is Skipper! He is a 6.5yr old long haired neutered male Chihuahuas that is very sad. He and his "brother" lived a wonderful life with their "daddy", had a dog door and a bed in every corner. They were also fed a little too much...but one day their "daddy" died in their home and no one knew. So these poor guys had to stay in their home with their owners' lifeless body as well as no food for them. Their owner lived alone, so there was not anyone to care for them. RRCR received a desperate email from his niece asking for us to rescue them, because they had to leave them alone in the home and just check in on them once a day. RRCR's president immediately agreed to help. They have taken awhile to accept touch, but now they are beginning to wrestle and play tug! They are very sweet. They will need a quiet home without kids. They are good with cats and other small dogs. His adoption fee will be $200. Please say that you will give these boys a second chance to live life and be okay without their beloved owner. Please email RRCR if you would like to meet him/them at recycled.ruffs.rescue@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skipper, a Fort Collins Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Fort Collins, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Fort Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
