My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING: Little Willow is an adorable tricolor female Beagle that came to us from a rural shelter in Virginia. She's a petite Beagle, weighing less than 20 pounds. Although she is shy with strangers, once she feels comfortable with people she's just as sweet as can be. She enjoys attention and even likes to curl up on your lap. Willow is good with other small dogs and is playful and energetic. She especially LOVES to play ball! Her favorite game involves zooming around with a ball in her mouth; she drops it, then chases after it when it bounces, and zooms around again as the "game" continues! Very entertaining to watch!

Willow is current on routine vaccinations, already spayed, crate trained, microchipped, and has had a dental cleaning. She was treated for heartworm infection shortly after she arrived in rescue. Having received the proper treatment and aftercare, she has made a complete recovery.
Willow enjoys being able to run and play with her Beagle buddies in the fenced backyard. She likes going for walks too, however she needs to practice her leash manners. She tends to pull on the leash, though she's easy enough to control, given her small size. Willow is now ready and waiting to find a forever home and a family to call her own.
Important: Willow is not at a shelter where you can go to meet her. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application and be pre-approved before meeting a dog. Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be approved. We are unable to accept applications for specific dogs and cannot guarantee the future availability of this or any dog listed. Once an application is approved, we’ll begin a matching process--the right dog for the right home. Please visit our web page: www.safehounds.com to learn more about the adoption process and to download our adoption application.
If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider helping us so that we can continue to help them. We have dogs with medical needs and many hungry Beagles to feed. We are always in need of dog food and other items from our wish list as well as financial support to help us care for our dogs.
