Onyx's Story...
Onyx and 3 other kittens were living with a colony of 6 adult cats. The cats were living in the woods behind a auto parts store and restaurant on a very busy road. The staff at the auto parts store were feeding all the cats and kittens. Onyx was very afraid of people at first, it didn't take long for him to become such a playful and lovable little boy. He loves to be held and rubbed, he lets you know with such a load purr. He love's to run and chase balls, toy rats or a feather on the end of a string. He is shy at first but warms up quickly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Onyx, a Winston-Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Winston-Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Winston-Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winston-Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winston-Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winston-Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
