Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darling 1-yr old RUFUS is still waiting for a home!
First of all, he is a huge, wonderful lap dog! Rufus is affectionate and just wonderful around all sorts of people. A wee bit shy and conservative in new situations but then he warms up quickly. NO cats! (typical GSD) in the home for this boy and Rufus would probably be best as an only dog. He can be a bit clumsy, still growing into is body and figuring out where all of it is, but we have to say that on Rufus, it is quite endearing! However, due to his size, no children under 12 please. Really, Rufus is such a great dog. He is VERY affectionate and devoted to his person, no food or toy aggression . . . . just an easy to live with dog. As his foster mom says, "he doesn't have a mean bone in his body". He does get a bit anxious when left alone. His foster mom has been working with Rufie on this and he has improved, but we are looking for a wonderful family that won't be leaving him alone more than about 4 hours a day. Rufus is a very under-appreciated dog. He is one of those amazing dogs that you don't really realize how cool he is until you meet him in person. And he really is a beautiful boy. We are looking for a very wonderful family for him. . . a family that is home most of the time so they can enjoy and appreciate Rufus' company.
If you are interested in meeting Rufus and providing a loving, forever home, please complete an adoption application at http://www.northwestgermanshepherd.org. The adoption donation ranges from $150 to $450 and is based on the age of the dog. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care, and adoption of our dogs. Adoption fees may be tax deductible as we are a 501(c)(3) organization. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations and are microchipped.
