Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Taco is a 9 year old (hatch date of April 2004) yellow-napped Amazon who has a wonderful personality once he warms up to you! He loves attention and to sit on your shoulder so he can be involved in everything you do. He loves to eat pellets and his favorite snacks include almonds, pistachios, bananas, strawberries and sweet potatoes – we are still working on opening up his tastes a bit to involve more fresh fruits and vegetables. Taco is vocal – he is NOT a screamer - but he loves to imitate dogs and cats with his own form of barking and meowing! He also enjoys talking and says “hello” when someone rings the doorbell - he also whistles when he wants attention. His previous owner stated that he sings "Old MacDonald", "She'll be coming around the mountain", "Happy Birthday to me", and says "Goodbye” when he sees you heading to the door, and will mimic laughing, but he has not settled in enough yet for us to witness those antics, but I am sure that will happen soon! Taco enjoys being out of his cage most of the day and he likes to sits on his bungee rope so he can watch everyone in the house go about their activities. Taco does have a previously (and already healed) broken wing, so his wings cannot be clipped for safety reasons (the break was not previously addresses and healed improperly so he is unable to fly). Taco DOES NOT like children so should not be adopted into a home with non-adult kids. Once you meet him, you will fall in love - he is a wonderful bird companion!
