Spock's Story...
* Courtesy Post, Spock is NOT at the Shelter!*

I have a dog that I'm looking to re-home. I don't know if this page can help, but I wanted to try. I have had the dog since June and he's just not fitting in with our family, I took him from a co-worker who had a stroke and could no longer care for him. He was too cute to see sent to a shelter.

Spock.
2yr old male cock-a-poo, 18lbs, fixed. Dark Chocolate/Black in color. Hypoallergenic. Crate trained, and 95% house broken. Spock really could be named snuggles, if he can cuddle with you, he is content and happy. He really loves women, but will warm up to men as well, does well with other dogs (with the exception of raw-hides, he doesn't share those well). Needs TLC, previously rescued from an abusive home. He LOVES walks and does great on the leash. Currently up to date on all vaccinations. Ears are currently being treated, possibly allergy related. Feeding him Wellness, but in the process of transitioning to Blue Basics (limited ingredient) to see if that helps ears.
Comes with crate, bed, food/water dish, collar, & full medical records for the last year.

Pictures show before and after grooming so potential family can see all his "looks"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spock, a Fort Riley Cockapoo dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockapoo for sale in Fort Riley, or seeking a Cockapoo dog from a breeder in Fort Riley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Riley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Riley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockapoo breeders who help with Cockapoo rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Riley paves the way for another one to be saved.
