My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Pickles #3104
Age: 8 years
Color: Red
Coat: Smooth
Sex: Female/Spayed
Weight: Tweenie – 13 lbs

Pickles owners dropped her off at a high kill shelter without a second thought. No reason was given and they didn’t seem to care what would happen to her.

Pickles was terrified in the shelter. She hid in the corner and tried to become invisible. When our transporter spotted her, she was shaking with fear. The transporter lobbied hard to add this little doxie mix to our incoming transport and we agreed.

We took Pickles out of her crate when she arrived and gave her a cuddle. Then she went outside to go potty and drink and drink and drink. Pickles then put herself to bed where she slept for most of two days. It’s clear she got very little rest in her 11 day shelter stay.

After catching up on her beauty sleep, Pickles decided she was ready to join the pack. She now bounces across the yard and is always ready to get up and go. She loves investigating and really enjoys getting out and about. She is great with other dogs and is not a barker. She is friendly with strangers but her surrender notes say children agitate her, so she should go to a home with no kids or with kids age 10 and up.

Pickles enjoys cuddling but she also enjoys her walks.. She crates nicely at night. She currently holds the title of “easiest of the foster dogs”. She is a charmer!

Pickles is spayed, micro chipped and current on her vaccinations.
