My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carmel is a one year old Rottweiler Cross. She is eager to please and learns very quickly. She weighs 31 kg and is 22" tall at the shoulder.

She sits and lays down on command very well. We are working to improve the stay command with extended time and out of sight. I make her sit down before doing anything: going in or out a door, crossing the street, eating her food and now she is sitting without being asked most of the time.

Carmel is house trained and doing well with crate training. She is crated when I am away from the house but not overnight and goes in the crate on her own to sleep during the night but so far needs a really yummy treat to coax her into the crate when she knows I am leaving.

Carmel is very happy and excited when I come home so we are working on sitting to be petted and not jumping up. She loves playing with sturdy squeaky toys in the house or the back yard and is quite pleased with herself when she wins a game of tug o war with her rope toy and joyfully gallops around the yard. She loves to go for a walk and sits to wait for the leash to be attached while sweeping the sidewalk with her tail.

She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys doggie daycare and the dog park whenever she gets a chance. She loves playing and is very polite and plays well with all of the dogs she has met. She is also good with people and kids and is happy to meet everyone.

I am really enjoying her sunshiny disposition and I'm so impressed by how smart and willing she is.
