Sunflower's Story...
My name is Sunflower! The ladies at the shelter said my eyes reminded them of sunflowers so that’s how I got my name! Neat, huh?! I’m SO glad you’re taking the time to read about me! I really want a forever home but it has to be a mutual love, don’t you think?

I’m told I am super sweet and love, love, love to cuddle and be on your lap! That I have the cutest, little, baby meow and the softest, sweetest, little purr. I really like cardboard scratchers, catnip and sitting in a open window (with a screen of course) watching the world. I’ve been with two other foster kitties and I get along with them. I don’t know about small children or dogs but I’m young so I probably will find out that they’re okay too!

August 17th was Black Cat Appreciation Day but I’m hoping we can extend that a while longer so you can see how soft and warm and cuddly I am! Let’s fall in love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunflower, a Dallas American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Dallas, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
