My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAFE Class XV is in session! With the graduation of this class on October 25, 2013, SAFE will have graduated and found homes for 100 dogs! Inmate handlers will work with their assigned dogs for two months, in which time, the dogs will be crate trained, house trained, able to walk on a loose leash, taught basic manners and commands, socialized, and taught some entertaining tricks. The dogs are heartworm negative, neutered, on flea/tick/heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, and fully vetted. You may go to safehavenky@gmail.com to request an application, which may be emailed back or sent to SAFE Haven KY, P.O. Box 401, Princeton, KY 42445. The deadline for applying for a SAFE dog is October 10. All applicants will be notified by October 17 whether or not you were chosen to receive a dog. The adoption fee is $150.00.

Duke is a two year old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who plays really well with the other dogs as well as his stuffed animals. When he needs a little quiet time, he finds his way to his crate. spends some time away from distractions and comes out renewed and ready to engage. He loves people food, but won't use a metal bowl. Charming little quirks that make Duke who he is.
