Toby's Story...
Toby entered rescue from a shelter. He is a tri-colored Sheltie with just a little tan on his face. He comes when called, walks stairs up and down and he walks on a leash. He gets very excited when he sees a leash and he is ready to go. He seems to be house trained. Goes to the door when he wants out and returns to the door when he is ready to come in. He has a very pleasing disposition loving to be close, have attention, enjoying conversation and being petted. He gets along with other dogs and just kind of goes with the flow. He seems pretty mellow for a 3 year old Sheltie. He weighs twenty-two pounds and sports a very full Sheltie coat. We are working on his grooming so watch for new photos to come. He hopes to be ready to meet you Saturday at Petco.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Mission Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Mission, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
