Carter's Story...
Carter and his little brother, Casey, found themselves dumped in a small town, high kill shelter. These boys were so precious and so happy and friendly that the staff immediately contacted this rescue to try and save them. They are now flourishing in a foster home and indeed are the sweetest most playful little guys you will ever meet! Although we found upon doing some research that occasionally a long haired pup will crop up in purebred Pugs; these boys might be mixed with some Pekeinese. No matter what the breed or mixture of, they are just so cute in appearance and behavior. The boys are about 11 weeks old now and will receive their third set of shots and be ready to travel in a few weeks. These guys are about 7-8 lbs now and should stay in the toy breed size range. They are happy, happy, happy and will spread the joy if you will take one or both of them into your hearts and homes. For more info on these boys and or to fill out an application for one or both of them....please contact lorainecm@comcast.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carter, a Harrisonburg Pug/Pekingese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Pekingese for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Pug/Pekingese puppy from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Pekingese breeders who help with Pug/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
