Buddy's Story...
Buddy is a very nice 2-3 year old Chocolate Lab/ Border Collie mix. He is good with kids, dogs and cats. He will make a great family dog.

Buddy is very smart, knows basic obedience commands and is potty trained. He is epileptic so needs medication twice a day to control them—the medication costs about $18 a month. Buddy is new to our rescue so we will be updating this posting as we learn more about him.

(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out the CHEW Adoption Application you can find on our website: chewdogrescue.org/Forms.html If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a Gig Harbor Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
