My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

May was a stray who was born on the streets and lived with her mother, Meadow who is on our website, also up for adoption. May has made a lot of progress since coming into the rescue- she is enjoying her outings to socialize with people and the big world. She loves playing, is very treat motivated and enjoys going on car rides. She can entertain herself for a long time chewing on Kongs, bones and playing with toys.

Her ears are tipped which make her a super cute pup! Her happy tail goes a million miles a minute once she sees your a nice person. She has a wonderful alert bark but her tail is usually wagging...saying " Hey everyone, a new person is coming toward us, oh I hope they are nice, I hope they have a treat, should we be worried???" Then after a quick sniff she is happy and more comfortable.

Date of Birth: estimated June 2013
42 pounds and growing (will likely be small - med size)
Mixed Breed
House trained working on it
Crate trained almost 100%
On Heart worm meds
Spayed
Micro-chipped
Good with other dogs
Will chase cats
Good with all people but cautious, warms up very quickly once she sees they friendly

She has started training classes, working on loose leash walking, trying out agility equipment and even aspiring to earn her CGC papers. She knows "place, "sit", "down" and "come". She responds to NO very quickly and is really smart. She bonds easily to people and loves looking you in the eye waiting to see if you have something fun to do or something good to eat. She loves indoors and out equally.

She does play bows, rolls on her back, and gives kisses and paws trying to get other dogs to play with her. She would do very well in a home with other furry playmates but if it were just her and her person there she would love that too.

May had demodectic mange ( the non contagious kind that comes if you are a puppy without good vet care ... http://www.beaglesunlimited.com/health/demodectic-mange-and-inexpensive-treatment ). As of Feb. 25th she is all clear per the vet!

She sleeps though the night in her crate and you will find her in her crate come nighttime - putting herself to bed on her own : ). She is a great traveling companion and loves going on adventures.

When May goes on outings she is still cautious in any new surroundings and with new people but she recovers quickly and she will be more at ease as she is exposed to more environments. She needs someone who has the interest in taking her with them. She is a very sweet, loving, smart girl who is looking for a forever home.

If you are interested in adopting May, please go to our website to complete our adoption application and someone will get in touch with you.
