Cody's Story...
*UPDATE ON CODY*
So, Cody has been back with us now for a week and I can honestly say that he is a wonderful, VERY adoptable dog. I cannot speak as to what happens outside of my home BUT he is quiet, fun, well behaved, loves to play ball, crates beautifully (not a peep), he's housebroken, and he never once has tried to get out or run away. He is a perfect family dog (if you don't have cats or can keep them separate), he gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, kids, and all people. I think he likes having a canine companion, but if you want a dog to go everywhere, do everything...This is your dog! If you are interested you can fill out our online application at www.secondchancesalem.org . His adoption fee is $250.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Salem Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle for sale in Salem, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle puppy from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
