Frieda's Story...
This girl deserves the utmost in a special home and Lake Haven is bound to find that for her. She is affectionate and loving with everyone. She is very nice with the children here and kisses a lot of faces when my grandkids are here. Not aggressive in any way and is easily handled.Likes other dogs, however would not enjoy rowdy hard play. She was dumped, along with a frail senior St. Bernard that was blind, at the end of a dirt road - just dumped like trash, like they didn't matter to anyone. These type of cases just tug so badly at volunteers at Lake Haven. We named this pretty girl Freida. She would not leave the side of the older St. Bernard and someone saw them just laying in the dirt road so Animal Control was called. We did pull both dogs and the Saint was in such dire shape, blind, filthy, flea infested, rotting teeth and he was immediately taken to our vet where it was discovered nothing could help him so he was humanely euthanized.Freida was in much better shape - she will need a dental, a grooming, flea treatment but she is the utmost in sweet dogs! She likes your face and hands and just wants so much to be stroked and cared for. She also adores kids of all ages and dogs too.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frieda, a Newaygo German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Newaygo, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Newaygo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newaygo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newaygo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newaygo paves the way for another one to be saved.
