My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: Simon is a gray and white tuxedo cat who was born in early spring 2013. He’s been in foster care since he's been 2 months old. He was born with several eye issues so he needed to stay in foster care until everything was fixed. Simon was born with Microphthalmia (small eyes), nearly complete cataracts, and Entropion (eyelids that fold inward so that the eyelashes scratch the eye). The early hope was to fix his eyelids and remove the cataracts, Unfortunately the cataracts could not be removed because his eyes were so small. Because of this his body grew normally but he had a pocket of space between his eyelid and eye. This collected dust and allergens. One eye had a larger pocket than the other and was causing constant pain so it was decided it was in his best interest to remove that eye. He now seems to “see” better since having that eye removed. Although he has cataracts in his remaining eye, he can still see shapes and gets around fine. This is all he has known so he doesn’t realize he is not like other cats. Right now his eye is fine but should anything happen in the future with his eye, BCCC would pay for the treatment going through one of our vets.
Simon is the best cat. He loves all the cats that live in the house and all the other fosters that come in. Whenever any foster cats come in he is the first one to greet them. He wants to play with everyone and is not aggressive at all. He loves being with people too. He likes to go in his foster mom’s office while she is working and nudge her for attention. Simon’s mom Penny was in foster care with him but she has now found a home of her own. We feel Simon would do best in a home with a cat to play with and a house with no young children as he can’t see if they are coming at him. He is currently living with 3 kids, a large dog, and 6 cats and is fine with all of them..
Please note: All cats and kittens require an on-line adoption application be completed and sent BEFORE consideration for adoption can take place. On-line applications at www.billericacatcarecoalition.org
