Benjamin's Story...
Benjamin and his sister Whitney are as cute and sweet as can be! I mean, really! They are friendly with strangers, other dogs and cats and all they want is love! They are about a year old and weigh about 10 lbs. These beautiful babies are spay/neutered, UTD on all shots and HW tested negative. They were surrendered by their owners to a local high kill shelter because they said they were moving. Thank goodness we had a volunteer there to rescue them. Benjamin and Whitney have been together all their lives so it would be great if they could find a home together. Both of them appear to be housetrained and leash trained. If you would like to fill out an application for one or hopefully both of these kids, please contact lorainecm@comcast.net Thank you for your interest in rescue!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benjamin, a Washington Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu for sale in Washington, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
