Barney's Story...
This incredibly handsome young man is Barney, a 2 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd/spaniel mix that is looking for a good home, again. Barney originally came to us in the winter of 2012 when he was found as a stray. Barney was adopted out for about a year and a half, but was given back to us when his owners could no longer care for him. Barney was naturally upset to be given up, but as soon as he recognized his old friends, the tail started wagging and his giant grin flashed across his face. Barney is still as happy as ever and so extremely friendly. It seems he hasn't had much training so he could use some training with leash walking, but he is so very gentle and sweet, and is a fast learner too. Barney adores everyone he meets and has such a warm and bubbly personality. You can't help but laugh when you see him playing with toys.....he just loves them and will toss them around all day if you let him! Barney gets along with other dogs and loves people of all ages, but would do best in a home with no cats. This sweet and silly boy with the beautiful eyes is so hopeful for a wonderful, forever home where he could have a big yard to run and play in, and a loving family to cuddle up with at night....please make his dreams come true! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Forked River Spaniel (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Spaniel (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Spaniel (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Spaniel (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Spaniel (Unknown Type)/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
