Liesl's Story...
Little Liesl enjoying a fun day at the river! Liesl nearly lost her life when she was just a baby. After being attacked by several other dogs, she suffered injuries to her neck and head. Shortly thereafter, she went into foster care to recover, where she still is today. She's made a full recovery, as you can see, and is enjoying life more than ever now. Her brother was adopted just last week, so now it's her turn. This girl is loaded with personality and loves to be right next to her "person" at all times. She is fully house trained and stays inside all day except when she goes for walks or other outings. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. She is quite a "vocal" dog as well, yapping loudly when she wants your immediate attention. She's such a comical girl, that one can't help but continually laugh when in her company. She lost a lot of her hair after the accident, but is growing it back better than ever now with a shine that won't wait! Liesl is one of a kind and cute as can be. She enjoys long belly rubs especially when she is held in your lap and is learning to love the water now too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liesl, a Wilmington Retriever (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
