Update from Molly's Foster Mom: Molly is energetic for 9, bouncing and trotting everywhere. Her teeth are good, and her fur is "wonderful, and thick and shiny." She is beginning to enjoy toys as well as bones, although she doesn't know about retrieving tennis balls. It took her a little while to get with the program, but Foster Mom says "Now she is on it!" Molly is SO happy as she learns about receiving attention and affection, she never knew life could be this good. Please consider adopting Molly so that she can enjoy the best years of her life with you.
Bio: Carefree, strikingly pretty Molly has discovered that living inside is sooooo much better than being an outside dog! Listed on Craigslist by her former owner as "free to a good home," a Good Samaritan rescued Molly from an uncertain fate and took her to a kind veterinarian near Birmingham, AL. There she was vaccinated and spent time recovering from an ear hematoma. Now she is with a wonderful Sunshine foster who tells us that Molly is a doll.
Molly is a 9-year old Golden mix who is tall and oh-so-pretty with her white designer markings. She has a nice moderate energy level and is a healthy girl, close to 80 lbs and not overweight, with just a touch of arthritis. Although Molly never received much training when she lived as a farm dog, she wants so much to please her foster Mom. With some basic obedience training, we are sure Molly will be proud and confident as well as loving. She is a little bit of a jumper when she is excited but she knows "no" and "sit," so is easily corrected. She needs work with leash walking, and she has all the basics she needs to be a fantastic companion--she enjoys being with her Foster Mom's two dogs and cats, and she is pretty neutral so could also live as an only dog quite nicely. She probably was never given a toy in her whole life so doesn't quite know what to do with them, but she has two favorite things: car rides, and people. She needs a little boost into a car and once in she is bouncy and cheerful, an alert and interested rider. All people are her friends, big and little, young and old. She met young children when staying at the vet clinic and did fine once she stopped being all wiggly with excitement. She has been sleeping next to her Foster Mom's bed, a new experience for Molly and one she would like to continue.
You can see the sweetness and eagerness to please in Molly's eyes. She is healthy and ready to move on to her forever home. Take a look, and if you would like to consider adding Molly to your life, please apply and ask for Molly.

About Our Rescue
Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready.
A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided.
The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home.
Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed.
