found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
She is a very sweet, small black Labrador Retriever who has been at the shelter since January 10th when she was returned by her adopter. Whenever I see Lady, she is nothing but happy, friendly, a wiggle-bum, loves giving kisses and wags her tail a mile a minute. She loves going for lots of long walks.
She was originally a stray in Toronto and came into one of the Toronto Animal Services where she was unable to find a home. A lady who rescues dogs took her in, but she too could not find an adopter. In hopes that Lady would have a better chance at finding her forever family, she was brought to Georgina AC. The shelter adopted her out to a man but unfortunately she was returned some time later, extremely overweight. I was shocked the first time I saw her as she was so huge whereas before she was a very fit girl. The man said she didn't like if he'd grab her by the collar and she would snap at him, he also noted that she had food and resource aggression.
At the shelter, Lady has NEVER exhibited any of these issues. She has been nothing but perfect! I've given Lady many hugs and she licks my face completely. She's always happy, very very friendly and sweet as can be. Lady walks wonderfully on a leash, she is about 3 years young. Unlike most dogs who come into the shelter and spend months in a cage, Lady seems to quite enjoy it! She has no issues with returning to her cage and is always smiling, never seems sad or depressed. Our wonderful volunteers have gotten Lady back to her proper weight and she looks fantastic. Lady has a beautiful coat.
She's spayed and fully vaccinated. She isn't a very large Lab, much more on the small side. I can find out how she is around other dogs and cats if needed. I've never had a problem walking her by other dogs that are in cages. Lady is such a cutie, it makes me sad to think of how long she's spent in a cage, she deserves a family to love and understand her. Once again, I'd like to note : We have NEVER seen any aggression! Since being at the shelter, everyone has worked very hard with Lady, my mom notes that she's petted Lady's entire body while she is eating and there was no problem at all! Volunteers walk her often and no one has ever complained about her. I love Lady and find her to be a cheerful, happy Lab.
