My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tootsie- the ultimate family member. A 5 year old Collie/Border Collie mix weighing in at 41 lbs. Tootsie once belonged to a family. Unfortunately, they didn't feel it was important to bring Tootsie along with them when they moved, so they left her behind to fend for herself. We can't imagine how confused Tootsie felt- after all she had lived the routine of a house dog for all of her life- and now she was turned out onto the street. As if things couldn't get any worse she was picked up by animal control and scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, volunteers noticed how calm and loving she was and started to find out more about her plight. They were able to pull Tootsie out of harms way and into the arms of a loving foster family. Slowly but surely, Tootsie is gaining her confidence back and enjoying having kids, dogs, and adults around (she doesn't pay much attention to the cats and backs away from them). Tootsie's hobbies include cuddles from the kids and giving lots of kisses. She is described as having a low energy level and a very quiet, calm, and loving temperament. In addition she is house trained, can walk on a lead, and already is learning some basic commands. We need to find Tootsie a loving forever home. She deserves to live the rest of her life with a family that will love and cherish her and never abandon her. If you think you can offer Tootsie a great life then contact Ellen at doubledogellen@att.net to request an application and begin the adoption process. Tootsie is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is currently in SC and will be transported to CT on 9/7. Her adoption fee is $450.
