Katie Needs a Best Friend—foster or forever home
Katie was a victim of the 2008 flood. Her mom adopted her from the temporary shelter at Kirkwood and gave her a loving home, where for five years Katie has slept on the bed, played with the cat and had daily walks. Sadly, Katie’s caregiver now suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and has entered a care center. A friend of the family is caring for Sadie, but can only do so until Sept. 6. Katie is 10 years old and 35 pounds but needs to lose weight. She has not lived with another dog, so we will test her in the near future. She loves the young kids who visited her and her mom. Please let us know asap if you want to foster or adopt Katie.
Our adoption fees are on a sliding scale; choose the amount that's right for you. Fees for senior dogs (7 years and older) are $90 to $125; fees for dogs 1-6 years are $125-$175; fees for dogs under 1 year of age are $150-$200.
If you are 65 years or older, the adoption fee is waived when you adopt a senior dog. All Dogs Forever dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper/parvo, tested for heartworm and Lyme disease, and microchipped.
