Jake's Story...
Josie & Jake Deserve a Happy Ending!

Josie and Jake are looking for a happy ending to their sad story. They were found together in an abandoned building in Jones County, which has no animal shelter. They were held at the local vet clinic and were at risk of being euthanized. We are happy to take them into our care and provide the TLC they need to blossom into the happy and trusting dogs they deserve to be. They are terrier mixes; Jake is about 5 years old and Josie is around 3 years old. Because they are skittish and uncertain, Josie and Jake prefer a home without small children. We would like to place them in a home together. Are you the angel they’ve been waiting for?

Our adoption fees are on a sliding scale; choose the amount that's right for you. Fees for senior dogs (7 years and older) are $90 to $125; fees for dogs 1-6 years are $125-$175; fees for dogs under 1 year of age are $150-$200.

If you are 65 years or older, the adoption fee is waived when you adopt a senior dog. All Dogs Forever dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper/parvo, tested for heartworm and Lyme disease, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Cedar Rapids Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
