Rufus's Story...
Hi, I’m Rufus, but “Rue” to my closest friends. My foster mom says I’m pretty special and I’m one of her best fosters ever! I’m house broke, UTD on shots, neutered and LOVE everyone. Kisses are my specialty. I do get a little exuberant at times, and like to let you know when people show up or run down the street, but those can be great traits too. I may bark loud, but trust me, my bark is much bigger than my bite. I love to go for walks, rides, and meet new people. So far, I’ve gone to a farm and camping. But I am learning to control my energy a little more when I see new dogs, since I think they should all love me like I love them (it’s that exuberance). I turned 6 in June, and what a perfect age. I love to go play and can easily stay within my invisible fence area, but also love to crash where ever it’s comfy (or near mom). If you wish to learn more about me, as I have so much to offer, fill out an application and we’ll be in touch.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Streetsboro German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Streetsboro, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Streetsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Streetsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Streetsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Streetsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
