Sadie's Story...
Well hello there!

My name is Sadie I am estimated to be a 4-5 year old Yorkshire Terrier mix. I have no idea what I am mixed with or even if I am a mixed breed. I came to be with the wonderful people at NBSAR from the River Rouge Animal Shelter. My previous owner did not want to take care of my severe flea allergy and flea infestation. So instead they doused me in motor oil Yes, I said motor oil. Once my owners realized what a mess this caused, they surrendered me to the shelter. How sad but at the same time so HAPPY because I LOVE my new family and my new life at NBSAR!!!!

I am a small little gal at just under 10 pounds. I am slender and leggy and my foster Mom said I could put on about a pound to fill out a bit more. I am so sweet and follow my foster parents around everywhere they go. I seem to be potty trained...only had one accident on the first day! I will hang out with my foster sisters (big dogs) but I don't like when they get all up in my face. I would do best in a home with no other dogs or with a mellow, low-key canine companion. I am not interested in the cats. And I get along just fine with the children that I met next door who are 2 and 9.

I enjoy going for walks, car rides and especially being held like a baby and getting belly rubs. Of course, I love to snuggle too. :) Do you want to love me furever and make me a part of your family?

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today! Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application. While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Troy Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Troy, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
