My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Struan, "Sunny", a 9 year old Border Collie, has come a long way since she first arrived. I think she was afraid and lonely without her sister. She growled a lot and didn't play with my other dogs.

Now she is fun and playful. She likes to play with the string ropes and the squeaky toy animals. She likes to play fetch with tennis balls and anything else that I throw. We haven't tried the Frisbee yet because I was worried about her doing any leaping. She was just too heavy and I was worried about injuries. She has lost a lot of weight, but she is very sneaky about getting more calories that she should.

She likes to talk when she gets up in the morning and when I sing. It's a bit like a soft short howl. It just makes me laugh!

Sunny pulls at the leash when we walk together, but after the first excitement wears off she does very well.

She plays well with my grandchildren. I was a little worried about her wanting to push them, but after a couple of corrections she doesn't do that. My correction is kinda like CH-CH. The dogs seem to know that it means to stop whatever. Sunny does well with men and women of all sizes.

UPDATE AUGUST 2013
Sunny is doing well. She is a moderately active girl. She took about 3 weeks to completely warm up to her foster brothers but now she is doing well; there were no fights, just a lot of "you stay in your area and I will stay right here until I am comfortable". Sunny has lost weight and is almost to a normal weight. She likes being outside, walks and belly rubs and she absolutely loves playing fetch with a rubber ball. she could go for hours doing that. She looks to be perfectly healthy. no limping, bumps, scars etc. She has been more than friendly with any human she meets. Sunny probably will need to be locked up when gone where ever she ends up unless you want to replace blinds weekly (i put her in a crate). She doesn't get on furniture and she doesn't lick, but she will drop a ball in front of you in hopes that you will throw it. She takes a hint very well. If you don't want to play, she will go and curl up on the floor next to the couch and sleep. She has a really thick coat, which I have sheared down for the summer months.
