My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAFE Class XV is in session! With the graduation of this class on October 25, 2013, SAFE will have graduated and found homes for 100 dogs! Inmate handlers will work with their assigned dogs for two months, in which time, the dogs will be crate trained, house trained, able to walk on a loose leash, taught basic manners and commands, socialized, and taught some entertaining tricks. The dogs are heartworm negative, neutered, on flea/tick/heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, and fully vetted. You may go to safehavenky@gmail.com to request an application, which may be emailed back or sent to SAFE Haven KY, P.O. Box 401, Princeton, KY 42445. The deadline for applying for a SAFE dog is October 10. All applicants will be notified by October 17 whether or not you were chosen to receive a dog.
Sooki is a two year old Chihuahua/Min Pin mix, whose primary function was as a puppy machine/money maker for a backyard breeder. She is about two years old and in her short life, she was left outside to have litter after litter of puppies. She is adapting extremely well to her new environment with loving trainers and has lots of love to give back. She has already mastered her basic commands and enjoys cuddling as her number one activity. She is even learning to interact with the other dogs in the program. Sooki would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys cuddling as much as she does. And check out that charming little underbite. Precious!
