Rex's Story...
This handsome boy is Rex! He is 5-6 months in age and is a flat coat retriever mix. Rex is a sweet boy, a little on the shy side, and eager to please. He loves being petted and just being by your side! He is going to make a loyal companion for just about any family that is ready for basic pup 101 training and the commitment in their schedule to help him along. His foster says he even seems to be house-trained! Other dogs are fine by him and he doesn't mind cats either. Applications are being accepted at, don't miss out this fellow!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rex, a Richmond Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
