Pepper's Story...
Pepper is a 5 year old neutered male Labrador blend whose owner could no longer care for him. He will be available for adoption on September 12th after 6pm. Pepper seems to get along with other dogs, but his behavior with cats is unknown. He has lived with children from newborn to 14 years of age and it was reported he was very good with all ages. Pepper had 6 weeks of obedience training through 4-H, but would benefit from a refresher class to re-enforce what he already knows He loves to play with toys and is an active dog. He loves going for rides and it appears he is house trained. His previous owner reports he is a super dog, house trained, listens and obeys most commands. Pepper would make a great running partner, and what a great bonding activity for Pepper and a new owner.

If you want to apply for Pepper click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
