Tara's Story...
Such a shame for such a beautiful little girl to be in such desperate need of a spa day. Look beyond all that hair and just you wait. There is a pageant winner in there! Just as sweet as she is gorgeous, Tiny Tara is about 2 years old and about 8 pounds. She wants to snuggle, play and be your bestie.

All of our dogs have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, had rabies, bordatella and distemper/lepto/parvo vaccines as well as been de-wormed and had flea medication applied. They come with a free vet check at Mt. Tabor Vet Care. We offer a 10% discount for seniors, veterans and students. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. We don't adopt our small dogs out to families with children under 6 years of age. All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have an adoption application and check references. Pound to Posh is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs from high kill shelters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tara, a Portland Maltese/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Shih Tzu for sale in Portland, or seeking a Maltese/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Maltese/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
